Nokia 9 still in the works, expected alongside Nokia 8 pro later this year

If a recent report is to be believed, Nokia fans all over still have reasons to rejoice as the much-rumored Nokia 9 has once again surfaced in the news. Recall, that HMD Global was widely expected to unveil the flagship Nokia 9 back at the MWC, that however didn’t happen, the finish company instead decided to introduce the Nokia 1, Nokia 6 (2018), Nokia 7 Plus, Nokia 8110 (revamped) and HMD’s most premium offering, Nokia 8 Sirocco.

While some fans may have the belief that HMD might have abruptly canceled the Nokia 9, at least for the year 2018, fresh information available to us suggests the Nokia 9 is still very much in the works and will be unveiled alongside the Nokia 8 pro much later this year.

Gizchina News of the week

While no specific date has been given for the unveiling, the Nokia 9 could expectedly arrive with flagship specs and premium price tag that should give it an edge over flagships from Samsung, HTC, Huawei and even Apple.

Given that the in-display fingerprint technology is already available, the Nokia 9 could be HMD’s first smartphone to come with the in-display sensor. Both devices are tipped to come with the flagship SD 845, but that would be not much of achievements given that the market would have been flooded with devices powered by the same SD 845.

According to our source, the Nokia 9 would be HMD’s 2018 best flagship that would be equipped with best-in-class camera, design and some breakthrough innovative features. While Nokia 8 Pro was earlier tipped as featuring the Penta-Lens camera module, we now hear that Nokia 9 camera may be even more powerful and innovative.

There’s no word as to when the smartphones will be making their debut, but it’s likely HMD Global might showcase them at the IFA conference 2018 slated for 31 Aug 2018 – 5 Sep 2018 in Berlin, Germany.
