Huawei’s really throwing us for a loop.
Here’s to Huawei, with a real mixer for those of us who’ve been following the P20 for a while. The company put a out a brand new Huawei P20 teaser, but the camera on it is horizontal. This directly goes against so many of the leaks we’ve seen, and has really thrown me for a loop.
First, let’s do a simple breakdown of the new Huawei P20 teaser. It opens up with some flashing neon lights forming the shapes of a camera and a smartphone. It proceeds to become the three Os in Huawei’s “See Mooore With AI” marketing campaign. This would’ve been a simple and harmless teaser, if the smartphone outline didn’t have a vertical camera.

Now it’s not really too big of a big deal, to be honest. For all we know, the neon silhouette could just be a simple fake to prevent us from knowing more about the device. On the other hand, it could be that one of the P20 variants has a vertical camera setup. But it’s also possible that the leaks we’ve been seeing are all wrong.
It’s definitely a stretch, but it would not surprise me all that much if the leaks aren’t accurate. After all, they differ from leak to leak, with the most consistent aspects being the front notch and vertical triple cameras. Whatever this may mean, we’re definitely looking forward to what Huawei’s got up their sleeves come the 25th of March.
