HMD Global recently announced the plus-sized Nokia 7 alongside the banana-shaped Nokia 8110 4G, the Nokia 1 and the top-tier Nokia 8 Sirocco at the recently held MWC2018. For the first time ever, the company claims to have seen a massive response in the first sale of the device which took place recently in China via JD.com and Suning.com online stores.
Sources have it that the pre-registration period saw JD.com and sunning recording over 200,000 and 50,000 users respectively. While no specific figures were given, HMD Global claims the first stock of the mid-range Nokia 7 Plus which opened for sale at exactly 10:07 am via JD.com and Sunning depleted within 5 minutes.
Gizchina News of the week
The company says the device will go on sale in about a week – on March 15 at 10:07 am and would retail for the same price tag; CNY 2,300 for the 4GB/64GB version and CNY 2,500 for the 6GB/64GB version. Our friends outside of China would have to wait until April when the device will roll out to Europe at €400.
The Nokia 7 plus is HMD’s first attempt at a phone with an 18:9 display and a set of dual Zeiss-branded cameras. The best thing according to Expertreviews, however, is that the Nokia 7 Plus is a perfect rival for the Google’s Pixel 2 XL, even though it comes at a fairly cheaper rate.
