The smartphone business of South Korean manufacturing giant, LG, has been on the decline for some time now. LG’s inability to compete on the global scene reflected in its decision to pull out of the Chinese smartphone market due to huge competition. However, LG users who got their smartphones from T-mobile have cause to smile because the US carrier has announced that Android Oreo update for LG G5, LG G6, LG V20, LG V30 and V30+ is in the works.
Gizchina News of the week
Two years old LG G5 is the oldest of these phones and it was not clear if LG would offer an Android 8.0 Oreo update for the G5. Nevertheless, T-mobile has decided to support the 2016 flagship which is definitely a good news. As of now, there are no details as to when this update will be released and these smartphones will probably not get the OTA update at the same time. If anything, the newer LG V30 and V30+ should get it first before the older LG V20, G6 and G5. We will keep a tab on this recent development and let you know when the Oreo update starts rolling out.
