A good handset could come our way from a less-known brand. In all those cases the only winners are customers. To sell their products the manufacturers have to set relatively low price tags. So if the brand doesn’t matter, you can always get your hands on way better devices at way lower price tags. This is the case. The Infinix Zero 5 was announced in November 2017. This is a super mid-range smartphone with a number of selling points. But this doesn’t mean you should pay a fortune for it. At this moment, the mentioned model is sold for only $222.48 after applying the coupon (code: InfinixZ51). Thus it costs $100-200 less than other models carrying more or less known brands. However, we are more interested in its specs rather than the pricing because the Zero 5 really stands out.
It doesn’t come with a full-screen design, but the display parameters are quite attractive. The phone sports a 5.98-inch Full HD screen with an 85% NTSC and 500 nit brightness. The display also uses a 2.D arc glass design and it’s covered with a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 to protect it from minor scratches.
Gizchina News of the week
It may sound odd, but this is the weakest feature of the Infinix Zero 5. Under the hood, we can find a MediaTek Helio P25 octa-core chip clocked at up to 2.6GHz. It can be found on a number of great smartphones (the list can be found here). So the performance causes no doubts. Moreover, the SoC is paired with a 6GB of large memory and 64GB of native storage.
Once again, the performance is not its selling point as well. So which features make it outstanding? The Infinix Zero 5 sports a dual-camera with 12+13MP sensors combination. Thus the second sensor is not put there for the bokeh effect only. Actually, this camera supports 2x optical zoom, 10x digital zoom, and comes with a pixel size of 1.25um. Plus, there is a 4-in-1 16MP front camera accompanied with its own flashlight. So taking selfies in low-light conditions is not a problem for this handset.
At last, the Infinix Zero 5 sports a 4350mAh battery that is enough to provide a long life on a single charge. It supports 4G LTE and runs on XOS 3.0 based on Android 7.0.
