Mi Drop Now Better With MIUI 9 8.3.8 Beta

MIUI9

Xiaomi’s MIUI 9 version 8.3.8 update comes with some improvement to Xiaomi’s file sharing app, Mi Drop. This Global beta ROM 8.3.8 which is available to both Chinese ROM and Global ROM promises a great experience with Mi Drop. The major highlight of this update is that users will now be able to send and receive files when two devices are connected.

Gizchina News of the week

This is a step ahead of what it used to be – files were only transferred in one direction. Recall that before now, you can only receive files from your old device using the Mi Drop. While establishing a connection between two devices, you have an option to choose whether you are sending or receiving files. If you select the sending option then you can only send files on that connection. For you to receive, you will have to disconnect that connection and reconnect (this time, select the receive file option) to receive files. In addition, this update also made it easier to share Mi Drop app via personal hotspot. Initially, there was a bug that made sharing the app difficult but that has been fixed. This update is currently rolling out OTA thus it will not arrive all compatible Xiaomi smartphone units at the same time.

They should add an option to synchronize folders with a pc, so that music and other media can be updated easily.
