We know that there will be a lot of expectations from the Huawei P20 Pro at its launch event. The handset has been relentlessly teased to feature the first triple camera setup on a smartphone. And if all of these lenses don’t translate to good pictures, then it will have to be a gimmick.

However, Huawei has put out two teasers that give out some hints as to what can be expected from the cameras. In on of the promo videos, which is named, “See Closer”, Huawei is possibly hinting at a 3x zoom feature. This possibility is backed by good reason though. The above image of the rear camera shows 27-80mm equivalent which plainly means 3x zoom. Of course, we’re supposing the third lens to be a telephoto lens besides the RGB and monochrome sensors. The current best is 2x zoom that comes in flagships from Samsung and other devices.
The other teaser is named “See Brighter” which might refer to high-quality portrait selfies. It could also mean better low-light performance. The description of the video says, “a light studio in the palm of your hand… for a portrait that radiates,”. This is obviously a reference to great selfie shots.
While nothing concrete can be made up from the promos, as Huawei wants to keep users guessing till the last day. Hence we’ve had to do with guesswork to make sense of what the teaser could imply. The actual camera details and what we can expect will only be revealed on launch day.
After an unending torrent of leaks and spy photos, the Huawei P20 Pro is poised to be revealed on March 27.
