The OLED display technology can be one of the hottest trends among flagships, but such new technology doesn’t come without sacrifices. The thinner and high-efficient display technology adoption is one of the reasons for the price increase in some high-end smartphones. The iPhone X, i.e, was the first smartphone released by Apple to adopt an OLED panel, the result? A $999 price tag.
Apparently, this huge increase in the manufacturing costs will keep LG away from inserting OLED technology in their newest flagship – The LG G7 (Or whatever name they pick). According to analysts their mobile manufacturing division has been in the red for some years, and rushing to adopt the OLED technology could reflect in a huge and unnecessary price cost.

Analysts point out that LG decided to retain the LCD technology after contemplating the low sales achieved by iPhone X – One of the few smartphones to sport an OLED panel. Worth noting that LG already embedded OLED in the LG V30, however, we have no sure if the company will keep doing this with the upcoming V models.
