We already know that Samsung’s next flagship, Galaxy Note 9, is scheduled to debut in the second half of this year. Although we have well over 24 weeks before its launch, salient points of this smartphone have started hitting the rumor mill. Recently, there was a report that Samsung has started testing the firmware of the Galaxy Note 9 and that this smartphone has two versions dubbed N960FXXE0ARB7 and N960FXXU0ARC5.

Now, fresh reports suggest that Samsung is considering the possibility of equipping the Galaxy Note 9 with an on-screen fingerprint sensor. Speculations out of South Korea suggests that Samsung has developed four screen-based fingerprint solutions for the Galaxy Note 9. Samsung is still facing some difficulties in using the on-screen fingerprint technology. The company had to abandon the tech in the Galaxy S8/S8+ and it is not entirely clear if it has defeated this adversary. Samsung must ensure that this technology is impeccable before it applies it. As of now, only Chinese manufacturer Vivo has been able to release a smartphone with on-screen fingerprint sensor but even then, it has a few manageable glitches.
