As expected, Oppo has today announced the release of the Oppo F7 – its next selfie-focused smartphone, and the company’s first device to feature the now trendy top notch, similar to the Apple iPhone X. The device boasts of some AI-enabled camera features, competitive pricing, and a 19:9 aspect ratio display with a notch and 88% screen-to-body ratio ( Super Full Screen ).
The device comes fitted with a 6.23-inch Full HD+ display with a screen resolution of 2280 x 1080 pixels and Super full screen 2.0 – which is Oppo’s own term for 19:9 aspect ratio display with a notch and 88% screen-to-body ratio. In term of the performance, the device is propelled by the Octa-Core MediaTek Helio P60 12nm processor coupled with 800MHz ARM Mali-G72 MP3 GPU, 4GB RAM and 64GB of storage.
A major highlight of the device is its front-facing camera – featuring a 25-megapixel Sony’s 576 sensor, laden with Vivid mode and AR (augmented reality), real-time High Dynamic Range (HDR) sensor and AI Beauty 2.0. Some of the AI camera functions, according to Oppo include improved age and gender beautification effects and facial recognition capability by scanning 296 facial recognition points, a 20% improvement from the first-generation technology. A single 16-megapixel rear with LED flash and a fingerprint sensor sit on the back side of the device.

Oppo is also offering the Oppo F7 in limited edition variant featuring 6GB of RAM, 128GB of storage space and available in Sunrise Red and Diamond Black color options. Oppo latest selfie-focused flagship boots Android Oreo 8.1 with the company’s ColorOS 5.0 out of the box, and will be powered by a 3400mAh battery.
10,000 units of the device will be made available on flash sale for a period of 24 hours on Flipkart and 777 OPPO stores across the length and breadth of India.
The Oppo F7 with 4GB/64GB and 6GB/128GB RAM and storage will go for Rs 21,999 and Rs 26,999 respectively, but Oppo is offering 5% cash back for ICICI credit card holders, up to Rs. 1,200 cash back in 12 months, additional 120GB 4G data from Jio and one-time free screen replacement within one year from our authorized service centers.
The Vivo V9 with similar specs for comparison sake costs Rs 22,990 for the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage variant.
