Yesterday, in Paris, Huawei launched the world’s first Leica tri-camera smartphone. Of course, there also was the Huawei Mate RS Porsche Design with identical features, but it comes with a customized design that won’t meet many customers’ taste and requirements. So the Huawei P20 Pro remains the only smartphone made for larger masses. Even its competitors such as Meizu thinks the P20 Pro is the world’s best smartphone in terms of camera performance. A Meizu employee has posted on his microblogging that, most likely, Huawei will grab Samsung’s share in China and even make OV wince.
Of course, the selling point of the Huawei is the Leica camera. It uses three sensors of a 40MP color lens, 20MP black and white lens, and an 8MP telephoto lens. The camera has up to ISO 102400 sensitivity, 1/1.7-inch sensor area that provides more excellent noise control and dark light shooting. Plus, the Huawei P20 Pro supports a 3x optical zoom. Moreover, with the three-camera zoom technology, it supports up to 5x hybrid zoom. It also has a 4D predictive focusing capability. The focusing is done more quickly and it supports 960 frames of ultra-slow motion video capture.
The Huawei P20 Pro supports AIS Artificial Intelligence Image Stabilizer which filters and corrects image shifts and blurs caused by handshake. It can support up to 4 seconds of shutter time. So to get clear night shots you don’t need a tripod anymore. At last, the shooter comes with an AI Scene Recognition Optimization, RAW Multi-Frame Noise Reduction, and 4D Prediction Crank.
Gizchina News of the week
So we can state, the Huawei P20 Pro’s camera does everything you can imagine or can’t. Not accidentally, it scores 114 points at the professional camera assessment agency DXOMARK Mobile. This is the best smartphone for the current camera performance.
109 Points in DxOMark according to the Website of DxOMark
114 on the camera. It was averaged down by the video capabilities (which BTW was the highest score ever for video anyway)
