Motorola sends invites for April 19 event, Moto G6 series launch likely

The Moto G6 series has been soaking much attention of the rumour mill since two months. Without any official release info, details related to design, specs, prices are now already public. Speculation was rife that the series would launch in May. However, that now seems unlikely.

Motorola has scheduled an event on April 19 in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The invite although doesn’t declare what will be the marquee product of the event, it can’t be any other series than the Moto G6. The premium Moto Z3 Play is still a bit far away from launch and that makes the Moto G6 the serious candidate.

Official teasers have already been seen which we reported on our website last week. The takeaway from the official images is that all Moto G series phones will have rear fingerprint readers. Earlier the Moto G6 Play was only supposed to get a rear fingerprint scanner. All three devices of the family will get 18:9 screens and two premium variants will get dual rear cameras.

The G6 Plus will have a much able Snapdragon 6xx processor compared to its two smaller siblings but also a smaller battery. All the three handsets are expected to run Android Oreo. For more specs details, you can check the leaks galore here.
