Apple has today announced a special edition of its flagship iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 plus. The new iPhone 8 duo dubbed the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus special red editionwhich will be available to order later this week is Apple’s own way of supporting the Red, a foundation aims to fight AIDS in sub-Saharan Africa.
The new product is virtually the same as the regular iPhone 8 and 8 plus, albeit a red glass enclosure, matching aluminum band and sleek black front. Announced alongside the iPhone 8 red is the RED iPhone X Leather Folio which has been specially crafted from tanned and finished European leather for a luxurious look and feel.
In contributing to the Global fight against HIV/AIDS, a portion of the proceeds made from both the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus special red edition will be committed to the to Global Fund HIV/AIDS grants that provide testing, counseling, treatment and prevention programs with a specific focus on eliminating transmission of the virus from mothers to their babies.

Aside the new paint job, the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus special red edition share virtually everything with the standard Iphpne 8 and iPhone 8+ models, and will even retail at the same price but will be available only in 64GB and 256GB storage capacities.
The iPhone 8 special red edition is priced at $699 and $849 (£699 or £849) for the 64GB and 256GB , while the iPhone 8 special red edition is priced at $949 (£949) 64GB and 256GB respectively. Both devices will be available in select countries from April 10th, and in stores from April 13th.
