The ZTE Axon 7 was one of the most successful ZTE devices to the date. Although the number of sales can’t be compared with the results of Apple and Samsung with their respective flagships, the Chinese company managed to be in the headlines with its good-packed flagship.
A successor for the Axon 7 was highly expected during last year, but sadly the company never delivered it. Fortunately, new trademarks filled by the Chinese manufacturer can indicate the arrival of the long-awaited Axon’s successor, in not a single but two variants.
The Trademarks were filled by the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) revealing the arrival of two new ZTE devices, dubbed as ZTE Axon 9 and ZTE Axon 9 Pro, in the Russian Market. Still, those devices are expected to come for others markets such as the rest of Europe, Canada and in the US.

In what concerns to specifications, both devices will come with the best of the new generation, that includes the almighty Snapdragon 845 paired with 6GB or 8GB of RAM, depending on the device. Also, the smartphone is expected to come packed with a dual camera setup on the rear and another pair of sensors in the front. In addition, the storage amount may depend on the variant, going from 64GB to 256GB. In what comes to storage, both devices should come packed with Android 8.1 Oreo and Project Treble. Worth noting that ZTE is about to bring a new overhaul to its software going from a skinned UI to a more simplistic Vanilla Android look.
Besides the Axon 9 trademarks, the filling also lists others devices to fit in the mid and low category. Specifically, the company trademarked the Blade A531, Blade A7, and A7 Vita. Furthermore, the listing also includes the Blade A3, launched at the end of last year, that pretty much indicates the arrival of this smartphone in the EAEU market. Worth noting that until the moment ZTE hasn’t disclosed its plans for the new Axon smartphone, however, the trademarks come in a perfect time, since the original Axon 7 was released in May, the Axon 9 could follow the same schedule.
