Huawei will launch its first 5G smartphone in 2019


The race for the 5G technology is all set to start in the next year, with many companies and manufacturers investing a great part of its efforts to debut this new wireless connection as soon as possible. Huawei is one of those companies, that have invested huge resources to bring the 5G to the masses, today the company announced that its first 5G ready smartphone will be released in 2019.

The launch year coincides with the global rollout of 5G in the world, according to the company the smartphone will have its launch prepared for the third quarter of the next year. However, the company didn’t disclose more details about this upcoming handset. But considering that the support for the 5G networks will something exclusive to flagships, then it could pretty much be the 2019 Huawei Mate.

Huawei has already released its first 5G Modem back in February’s MWC, although it was designed to be included in large devices like self-driving cars. When it comes to smartphones, the company is yet to reveal a much smaller and compact alternative. As you may expect, the upcoming Huawei’s 5G Modems will not be exclusive to the brand’s smartphones but will make its way to other manufacturers handsets. A great part of 2019 5G capable smartphones will be using the Chinese manufacturer solution for the new network speed.

Currently, it remains a mystery if the company will bring 5G to one of its upcoming flagships or if it will be exclusive to a new line of smartphones made exclusively for 5G marketing around the globe. Of course, the new technology will be giving its first steps on the next year, but if everything goes as planned, the Chinese manufacturer could the number 1 when it comes to providing the new technology for most of the smartphones and 5G-ready vehicles. According to most speculations, 5G will be established by 2025, knowing how technology appears and goes away, until this date, the segment of smartphones may suffer a drastic change.
