Today, as scheduled, the Nubia Z18 mini that is also known as the Mavericks 9 went on sale. The 6+64GB variant is priced at 1799 yuan ($284), the 6+128GB model costs 2099 yuan ($334), and the Provence version costs 2199 yuan ($350).

The Nubia Z18 mini comes with a 5.7-inch screen. It has an 18:9 aspect ratio, a resolution of 2160 × 1080 pixels, 450nit brightness, 1500:1 ratio, 428PPI pixel density, 2.5D arc glass, 180 degrees of viewing angle, and In-Cell technology.

This is a mid-range smartphone packed with the super mid-range Snapdragon 660AIE chip. So no need to compare it with flagships sporting a Snapdragon 845 chip. As you know, Qualcomm has designed the SND660 to provide a performance close to the top-notch models but cost less. Moreover, this is the AI version of the mentioned chip. Thus, it is capable providing way better performance than many other SoCs available in the niche. Probably, the only chip that is capable of struggling against this one is the Helio P60.

Apart from this, the Nubia Z18 mini’s processor is coupled with various memory combinations, Adreno 512 graphics, and a 3450mAh battery supporting NeoPower power-saving technology. It runs on nubiaUI based on Android 8.1. There is a pre-loaded exclusive Maverick voice support. By sending voice commands, the system will intelligently find contacts or open applications based on instructions. Plus, it supports voice commands to transfer text in real time.

At last, like its predecessors, the Z18 mini comes with strong photography features. There is a 24+5MP rear camera with an aperture of f/1.7, PDAF phase focus and white contrast focus support at a 0.1-second focusing speed. There is a Spectra ISP that provides an excellent photo shooting in all conditions. On the front, it features an 8MP camera with a f/2.0 aperture and AI algorithm supporting smart beauty.
