The Xiaomi Mi 5X was considered to be one of the best mid-rangers in terms of price-over-hardware ratio. It comes with an impressive hardware that provides a smooth and stable performance. But what’s more amazing, it was the second phone after the Xiaomi Mi 6 to sport a dual-camera module. The next-gen Xiaomi Mi 6X will release on April 25. And it’s said this phone will come with an enhanced camera. It will take some time to test the camera capabilities and make assumptions. But before that, we can evaluate the rear camera performance via the photo samples published today on Weibo.
The original Mi 5X uses ‘wide-angle + telephoto’ dual 12MP camera configuration supporting dual-zoom. But its camera sensors differ from the Mi 6. The latter comes with an IMX 386 + S5K3M3 camera setup, the Mi 5X comes with an OV12A10 + OV13880 combination. The first lens comes with a f/2.2 aperture, 26mm focal length, 1/2.8 inches area, and a single pixel area of 1.25um. The OV13880 has a focal length of 50mm. Thanks to this configuration the camera supports portrait blur function, up to 4K30fps video capture, etc.
As for the Xiaomi Mi 6X, it will be packed with a 12+20MP camera supporting AI photography. On the front, it will carry the same 20MP sensor with an AI beauty support. Unfortunately, there is no information which manufacturer has supplies the sensors. The rest of features include a 5.99-inch full-screen with a resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels, Snapdragon 660 chip, 4/6GB of RAM, 64/128GB of internal storage, 2910mAh battery, and Android 8.1 pre-installed. According to official sources, the Xiaomi Mi 6X uses a full-metal body and nano-injection molding process to provide five colors: pink, red, gold, blue, and black.
