On May 15th, Chinese phone maker Smartisan will be holding a press conference where they’ll be announcing the Smartisan R1, a smartphone that is expected to “scare the crap out of you”, according to Smartisan’s CEO – Luo Yonghao.
As we know from previous rumors, the Smartisan R1 is set to come with a beastly Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 to power through the home-baked Smartisan OS which will be packing a special AI (artificial intelligence) tech to achieve an efficiency of over 200%.
While showing off some of the products in Smartisan’s portfolio that have won various awards in China (image above), Wu Dezhou – Smartisan’s VP – also left a hint about the upcoming R1. If we check out one of the images, we indeed see that there’s no icons in the mid-top part of the screenshot.
According to many people, that means the R1 will come with a top notch, which wouldn’t be a surprise seeing how all phone manufacturers are following this – hopefully soon dying – trend.
