OnePlus Starts A Mysterious Closed Beta Program For OnePlus 5 & 5T Users


A couple of days ago, Chinese manufacturer, OnePlus started the Android Oreo release for OnePlus 5 and 5T. Now, the company has announced a ” mysterious” Closed Beta Program which is open for only 100 owners of OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T.

As you well know, OxygenOS – the proprietary UI present on board the brand’s devices – is divided into three incarnations. Closed Beta, for a limited number of users; Open Beta, for the intrepid who want to try out the new features; MP (official) Build, the stable releases intended for all users. Well, the forum staff has just opened the door to a mysterious Closed Beta Program, destined for OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T.

Unfortunately, nothing is specified regarding this build or the features introduced; the only thing certain is that only 100 will be selected. However, the company claims that this test is aimed to make OxygenOS better. In order to be eligible, you need the following requirements :

  • a OnePlus 5/5T smartphone
  • Only active members of OnePlus Community Forums
  • Have prior testing experience of any kind
  • Be willing to constantly communicate and provide feedback to the OnePlus team on Slack
