It was confirmed yesterday that the LG G7 ThinQ would feature an option to hide the notch. A new live image of the phone has leaked showing a menu wherein customization options for the notch along are available. The option is listed under “New Second Screen”.
There are various interesting customization options including changing the design of the strip that hides the notch and also an option to change the color of the strip. The color choice might not be a big change but it surely is innovative of LG to think in the direction. How good it will look is completely going to be dependent on the user. There is also a choice to select the kind of app corners you want. It’s quite generous of LG to think about little things like these. Not everyone likes the notch!
Gizchina News of the week
From what we know so far, the LG G7 ThinQ will feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset as confirmed by the listing on Geekbench and various other sources. It will feature 4GB of RAM and run Android 8.0 out of the box. The back features a dual camera setup below which sits the fingerprint scanner. There is also an extra physical button present apart from the usual volume and power buttons but the purpose of the same is not yet clear. It is speculated that it will be a dedicated Google Assistant button. That seems like a good use of the extra button but hopefully LG will allow remapping of the same. A 6.1-inch Super Bright LCD display with a 19:5:9 aspect ratio is expected to adorn the G7 ThinQ. The phone is seemingly made of a block of metal and will be available in five different colors, Black, Platinum Grey, Moroccon Blue, Moroccon Blue (Matte), and Raspberry Rose.
LG is all set to unveil the G7 ThinQ on the 2nd of May. Stay tuned for more!
