The OUKITEL WP5000 is the company’s second ever rugged phone to hit the market. The handset is already on sale since the beginning of the week and shipping is now starting. To make sure the phone is protected perfectly from water, dust and shocks, the internal structure of a device is quite important. That’s probably why OUKITEL released a tear down video of their tri-proof WP5000.
The back shell of OUKITEL WP5000 is tightly screwed to the main body seamlessly to ensure nothing can pass through between frame and battery cover. To ensure no dust or water will go through the screw gaps, OUKITEL also put insulation spacers on the screws to make it tight enough. Inside the body, the WP5000 then got an IP68 waterproof speaker and receiver, sealed plug for SIM card tray and USB port. All for protecting the phone from water and dust. For shockproof, WP5000 combines Polystyrene Ebonite and Polyethylene Flexible Glue to reduce the damage when dropped.
