Xiaomi’s new Redmi S2 pops up again, full specs and images included.
You know what you’re here for, it’s some fresh new Xiaomi news. Today’s Xiaomi bit features the upcoming Redmi S2, with some clear new images and a full spec sheet. These are perhaps the clearest shots we have of the device so far, though there’s nothing surprising to really see. We’ve got a design that’s extremely reminiscent of the Redmi Note 5 Pro, just with new antennae lines adorning the top and bottom of the rear. Outside of that, they look pretty near identical.
Specs-wise, we’ve got a 5.99-inch 18:9 display with a resolution of 1440x720p, the standard mid-range setup. Inside, there’s a Snapdragon 625 chipet with 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage. Keeping everything running is a 4205mAh battery which is pretty good and keeps up with the Redmi Note standards. On the rear, there is a dual camera setup featuring a 12MP+5MP camera. The specs aren’t anything to shout about, but they’re very solid nonetheless.
Gizchina News of the week
The Redmi S2 is shaping up to be quite the impressive device. We expect the prices to line up with the other Redmi device prices, which means it’ll be affordable as heck. Really, everyone knows what to expect when they get a Xiaomi mid-ranger these days, and that’s a solid, no nonsense device that does its job well for a good price. That’s the main reason they’ve been so successful in most of their endeavors, with few exceptions.
Still, what do you think about the Redmi S2 and its imminent release? Do you feel perhaps Xiaomi is doing way too much in a short time frame, or are they perfectly under control? Tell us your thoughts in the comments section below!
