South Korean manufacturing giant, LG, is doing all it can to make its devices relevant to the smartphone market. A couple of days ago, the company announced that LG G6 will start to receive the Android Oreo update from April 30th. True to its promise, the device has started receiving the update but the rollout is limited to South Korea for now.

This is a glimpse of hope to users in other regions as it should not take long before the update is released globally. LG G6 users will get the benefit of improved battery performance that normally comes with Oreo in addition to other features like picture in picture mode, adaptive icons, Autofill API, notification channels, and more. Reports also have it that two of its 2016 devices LG G5 and LG V20 will get the Oreo update but the exact date for this to happen remains unknown.
