LG V30S ThinQ Available for Pre-Order in US at $929.99

LG V30S ThinQ

You know that things have not gone well with LG, lately. The company is losing its popularity in the smartphones market. But this doesn’t mean it has nothing worthy to offer. At MWC 2018, the company announced the LG V30S ThinQ. As the name suggests, the biggest highlight of this phone is that its camera incorporates AI technology. According to the official introduction, the phone is capable of intelligently identifying a subject and a scene when taking pictures, and using algorithms for brightness and color optimization. The phone has been available for purchase in South Korea at KRW 1,048,300 ($980). And now it is already available for pre-order in the US for $.99.

Externally, the LG V30S ThinQ doesn’t differ from the regular V30S. But the manufacturer has added two new color options – the Moroccan blue and platinum gray. It also comes with the same dual-camera module and a fingerprint reader placed on the back.

Gizchina News of the week

The LG V30S ThinQ sports a 6-inch screen with a resolution of 2880 × 1440 pixels. Under the hood, it carries the last year’s Snapdragon 835, which is paired with a 6GB of RAM and 128/256GB of internal storage. Thus, it is capable of providing a great performance.

However, as we said, the LG V30s ThinQ’s selling point is the AI. The latter is the same technology shown by the manufacturer at CES 2018. One of the most interesting features of this camera is a new function named the QLens. Thanks to it you can scan two-dimensional codes and barcodes, and search for identical products directly on Amazon and other sites. Of course, the LG V30s ThinQ is not the first phone with similar capabilities, but LG bets on it and most likely it will help the South Korean manufacturer to get its former popularity back.

At last, the LG V30S ThinQ comes with a smart voice recognition technology that is based on an LG-made QVoice tool. This technology also works with Google Assistant.

At this moment, B&H is taking pre-orders for the unlocked variant at $929.99. You can choose from two color variants: Glossy Moroccan Blue and Matte Moroccan Blue. Actually, this is the official US variant. Thus, it will work on most carriers, including Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, and Sprint. Unfortunately, it still remains unknown when the phone will ship.
