Amazon Germany ousted the OnePlus 6 renders, pricing and release days before its launch on May 16th. The website detailed high resolution renders of the upcoming flagship. The page has now been taken down but it was too late. The images show nothing new except the two colour options that the OnePlus 6 will be available in. The renders are similar to the earlier leaks that have reported.
The OnePlus smartphone will apparently go on sale starting May 22nd. Amazon has already made the announcement that Prime members will get a chance to buy the phone early on 21st May, dubbed as ‘OnePlus 6 Fast AF* Sale‘ in India. According to the leaked details, the phone will be available in two colour variants, Midnight Black and Mirror Black. The White version’s existence has been confirmed but seems like it will be available as a limited edition variant. As far as the pricing is concerned, this will be OnePlus’ most expensive smartphone ever starting at €519 (~$620) for the 64GB variant and €569 (~$680) for the 128GB variant. The price of the 256GB variant is not known yet.OnePlus phones have gradually become expensive but they still offer the best price to performance ratio.
Gizchina News of the week
The renders do not show anything new. There’s the notch up front, dual camera setup on the back and the fingerprint scanner right below it. On the spec front, the OnePlus 6 will sport Snapdragon 845 coupled with 6GB/8GB RAM and 64GB/128GB/256GB variants. Only the 6GB variants were listed on the website, so the 8GB variant will soon be available for purchase after the initial sale. A 6.3-inch Optic AMOLED display with a 2280 x 1080p resolution and 19:9 aspect ratio will sit up front. The listing also detailed the camera configuration. A 20MP+16MP setup is expected to sit on the back of the phone. While the phone will be protected from scratches and impacts by the Gorilla Glass 5 on the front and back, the “water repellant” qualities of the phone are also mentioned.
The OnePlus 6 will be unveiled on the 16th of May, and all the rumours will finally be laid to rest then!
