Towards the end of last year, we saw the uprising of Xiaomi in India which took the company to top position in the second largest smartphone market in the world. Recently, Xiaomi was listed amongst the top four smartphone brands in China and now, Xiaomi is the second largest smartphone brand in the Indonesian smartphone market.

Today, Wang Xiang, Xiaomi’s senior vice president, released a report on the shipment of the Indonesian smartphone market in the first quarter of 2018 as released by the renowned market research organization, Canalys. The report shows that Xiaomi has become Indonesia’s second-largest smartphone brand with an explosive growth of 1455% year-on-year.
At present, Samsung is still ranked first in Indonesia with a market share of 25.5%, and shipments increased by 17.2% year-on-year. Xiaomi climbed to second place with a market share of 18.3%, surpassing OPPO and vivo. In the first quarter of this year, Xiaomi’s shipments in China totaled 13.2 million units, and its market share reached 15.1% which took the company to fourth place with a 41.8% increase year-on-year.
