OnePlus 6 Design
The leaks and rumours have not fallen far from the tree. The OnePlus 6 boasts of an Optic AMOLED display up front with Gorilla Glass 5 on top. The design up front is centred towards providing more screen real estate than its predecessors. The notch is a result of this design philosophy. The notch holds the earpiece and the front camera. The usual array of physical keys is present on the smartphone. The power key and the alert slider sit on the right side of the OnePlus 6 while the volume key sits on the left with the sim tray. The back is made of glass and houses the vertically aligned dual camera setup below which sits the fingerprint scanner. The phone looks beautiful with all the glass around. Carl Pei claims that along with the Gorilla Glass 5, the OnePlus 6 has the same amount of resilience against drops as their previous phones
Gizchina News of the week
The OnePlus 6 will be available in three different and unique colour variants, Mirror Black that looks and feels like ceramic, Midnight Black that has a matte finish on glass achieved through minute corrosion on the glass’ surface. There will be a limited edition Silk White with rose gold edges.
OnePlus 6 Camera & Features
The camera on this one is quite a spectacle. The rear sports a very capable setup of 20MP+16MP Sony sensors. There are new portrait modes and the cherry on the cake is the new slo-mo feature. It allows you to capture 720p slo-mo at 480fps for up to a minute and then letting you select what part you wish to be in slo-mo. Pretty cool! The phone shoots 4K at 30/60fps, 1080p at 30/60fps and 720p at 30fps. The front on the other hand is a 16MP snapper capable of 1080p video at 30fps and 720p video at 30fps.
The phone also features gestures, thus allowing removal of the navigation keys from the screen altogether. The 3300mAh battery supports Charge, allowing for a day’s power in half an hour. The optimized OxygenOS 5.1 allows for faster relaunching of apps by dedicating maximum memory during app launch.
