BlackBerry KEYone receives May Security patch, Oreo update to come soon

A new update is arriving for all the unlocked models of the BlackBerry KEYone. The update basically consists of the May Security bulletin and fixes introduced by Google for this month. Since this update is exclusive to the non-carrier labeled models of the device, we can’t estimate when the carriers will start to deliver the update.

Also, there is good news for those who are waiting for the Android 8.0 Oreo update. According to the Rogers carrier from Canada, the Company has finally updated its Software update schedule to reflect that the 8.0 Oreo will be soon reaching the shores. Sadly, the company has chosen to bring the 8.0 release instead of the most update 8.1 revision, we just hope that this doesn’t result in problems in the future since the 8.0 has been problematic for a lot of OEMs.

Sadly, we can’t estimate when the company will release the update, it may come in days, weeks or even in months, however, is better knowing that it will come than having no information at all. The KEYone is one of the most successful BlackBerry smartphones since its revival, according to the rumor mill and a set of previously leaked content, the company is already preparing a successor that should hit the market before the end of this year.
