The Android camp certainly has not forgotten the Galaxy S9/S9 Plus so quickly because, for many Android users, it was more of a disappointment. For starters, there was no real innovation in thisĀ device and it only has a more powerful internals than the S8. However, new leaks suggest that the Samsung Galaxy S10 may be something to look up to. This poorly captured image shows the bottom and sides of the device and it is completely bezel-less. We shouldn’t get too excited yet because there is no confirmation that this display is the S10 and even if it is, the top of the screen was not shown in the image. In making a “true” full-screen smartphone, the top display has always been the problem becauseĀ it houses a couple of sensors that cannot be ignored.
Gizchina News of the week
The latest news about the Galaxy S10 suggests that this smartphone will launch at CES 2019 with aĀ ridiculously-sharp display that’ll blow the iPhone X out of the water. Ice UniverseĀ has reasons to believe that its screen pixel density will exceed 600PPI. Using this details, this smartphone will need a damn good SoC, definitely the SD845 or preferably 855 (if available). In addition,Ā the shape of the Galaxy S10 will beĀ optimized and modified on the basis of the S9, such as it should sport compressing forehead and chin. An on-screen fingerprint sensor is also expected.
600PPI screen brightness?
The biggest problem with a no-bezel phone is that there is nowhere to go after that. How are OEM’s going to out do each other after that? No bezels at all from very thick bezels – going too far. We need to hold the phone without accidentally launching apps, unless they start putting a handle on the back, which would be even more ridiculous. I prefer phones with some bezel. Even the S9 and S8 are a bit over the top. The LG G6 had just the right amount of side bezel for me.
Unfoldable 15″ screen from 6″ folded. Still small 3000mAh batteries though . That’s the long term future.
