Just recently, some real-life images of a device alleged to be the Xiaomi Redmi 6 popped up on the net, and while we thought it was way too early to witness the arrival of a successor to the Redmi 5 which is barely 6 months old, the latest scoop from China suggests the device will arrive soon now than we thought.
A Xiaomi made device alleged to be the Xiaomi Redmi 6 has popped up on TENAA revealing a few basic details. Listed with the model number M1804C3DE, the alleged Redmi 6 appears smaller than the Redmi 5- coming in at 147.46 x 71.49 x 8.3 mm, and is said to flaunt a 5.45” display with 1440 × 720 pixels HD+ resolutions. The device seems to have the 18:9 aspect ratio, but with a significant amount of bezel on both sides, above and even below the display.
TENAA’s listing reveals the device will pack an eight-core processor with a frequency of 2GHz, but it’s not clear what the exact SoC is. There will be 3 RAM and storage variants ( 2GB RAM+ 16GB storage, 3GB RAM+32GB, and 4GB RAM+64GB storage) and are all expandable up to 128GB with microSD.

In terms of photography, the alleged Redmi 6 will come fitted with a horizontally aligned dual rear camera: a 12MP primary + an 8MP secondary sensor, while a 5MP front-facing camera sits above the HD+ display.
Powered by a 3000mAh battery, the alleged Redmi 6 will boot Android 8.1 (Oreo) with MIUI 9 out of the box.
Xiaomi will be hosting a launch event on May 31 in China, where it is expected to unveil a plethora of products, including the 8th anniversary Mi 8. And like we noted earlier, the Mi 8 will be the star of the show, and it is alleged to come with an in-display fingerprint sensor, a 3D facial recognition, a 4,000mAh battery with Quick Charge capabilities, a Snapdragon 845 chipset with 8GB of RAM, and a full-screen 6-inch display.
