HTC U12+ is the latest offering from the Taiwanese manufacturer. It has braced the market at a time when notches and dual cameras are the staple in every phone. Successor to the U11+ the U12+ is a significant upgrade over its predecessor. HTC has finally brought not a dual, but a quad camera phone to the field.
HTC U12+ Design and Specifications
The HTC U12 is roughly the same size as the U11+. The 6-inch Super LCD6 display supports HDR10 and DCI-P3. It has an 18:9 aspect ratio,no notch and a 1440 x 2280p resolution which translates to 537ppi. The U12+ is made of glass and has a pressure sensitive frame, enabling Edge Sense 2. Gorilla Glass 5 protects the screen and the back. It boasts of stereo speakers and high-res audio over USB-C. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 coupled with 6GB RAM and 64GB/128GB onboard storage(expandable). The U12+ retains the IP68 rating that its predecessor had.

On the front sits a dual camera setup of two 8MP sensors, while the back houses a 12MP f/1.8 UltraPixel sensor with OIS, PDAF and laser autofocus coupled with a 16MP sensor that has 2x optical zoom. The camera can shoot 4K videos at 60fps and 1080p at 240fps. A 3,500mAh battery with support for wireless charging powers the U12+. Android 8.0 Oreo is available out of the box and HTC has committed to updating it to Android P.
HTC U12+ Pricing and Availability
The HTC U12+ will be available in three color variants, black, red and translucent blue. The translucent blue looks absolutely amazing in images. The U12+ is available for pre-order starting today. The 64GB translucent blue variant will set you back by $799 while the 128GB variant will set you back by $849. The ceramic black model is available in only 64GB variant and will retail for $799.
