Ulefone also working on the 3D structured light face recognition tech

Very soon Xiaomi and OPPO will release their new phone models featuring the cutting edge face recognition technology using the 3D structured light. This tech is the much safer version of the normal 2D scanning and could be used even for the payment verification. So it makes sense the phone makers are trying to get it working for their high-end models.

And today Ulefone leaked some information concerning their upcoming Ulefone T3 Pro model, because they are apparently cooperating with the Orbbec Technology company (manufacturer of 3D structured light devices) to research and design this tech for this particular phone. T3 Pro should also get the in-screen fingerprint scanner and compared to the bigger brands it should be available quite cheaper.

Gizchina News of the week

However we have already seen the previous flagship model T2 Pro presented at the MWC 2018 with the in-screen fingerprint sensor, but due to some production difficulties and problems with chip makers it’s still not yet in mass production. But should be soon hopefully. Alongside that Ulefone plans to release the midrange Ulefone X with notched screen sometime in June.

Ulefone currently is trying to win the hearts of customers with their big battery model Ulefone Power 5 featuring monstrous 13.000 mAh battery capacity, you can find out more about it on the official website. But of course from the T3 Pro we can expect way higher specs and performance, so let’s cross fingers to actually see it anytime soon.
