This Week on GizChina

Xiaomi

This upcoming week we will finally see the much hyped and awaited Xiaomi Mi 8. The handset is expected to pack top-notch features such as the latest Qualcomm QuickCharge 4.0, a dual-frequency GPS module by Broadcom and the best camera hardware & software ever seen on a Xiaomi device.

Huawei

Great news coming from Huawei this week as well. Recent reports out of China do indeed suggest that Huawei will be releasing a new breakthrough technology in the near future with a commercial value that could reach $10 billion. Also from Huawei, we have the latest entry-level Huawei Enjoy 8e Youth Edition hitting the market as well as some rumors regarding the upcoming Huawei Media M5 tablet.

VIVO

Chinese phone maker VIVO, mostly known in the western world for for the stunning VIVO Apex concept phone unveiled at MWC, is apparently going to launch a notch-less device namely called NEX; click here to read more about it. If you’re more interested in their more affordable phones, check out the latest VIVO Y83 coming with the recently launched MediaTek Helio P22.

Smartisan

Good and bad news for Chinese phone brand Smartisan. The latest flagship from the hammer company is, in fact, under scrutiny for adopting camera lenses that are too easy too scratch, users reported. On the good side, their 1TB memory equipped Smartisan R1 is one of the fastest phones in the world, at least as far as storage reads and writes speeds are concerned.

Lenovo

Lenovo has been running the rumor mill for a while now, in regards to the upcoming Lenovo Z5. The smartphone is indeed expected to pack a whopping 4TB of storage, a massive battery and great cameras; hopefully we’ll find out more very soon!
