Xiaomi is fully amped for its May 31 8th anniversary launch event in China, and there is no hiding it. The Chinese company has now released a teaser video (not the first though) preparatory to the May 31 event in Shenzhen, China highlighting a series of products it got in its fleet.
The 30s video which you can see below does not exactly sow us what products to expect on May 31, it instead takes us through the range of products it has launched in the recent past ranging from the 90 Minutes suitcase, LED bulb, smart lock, refrigerator, camera, bread toaster, while closing it with a teaser of its 8th anniversary smartphone – the Xiaomi Mi 8 which is expected to debut at the May 31 event in Shenzhen, China.
The Mi 8 obviously will be the major highlight of the event and has been leaking for quite some time now. The device is actually rumored to arrive in two variants – a regular Xiaomi Mi 8 powered by the SD 845, and a Xiaomi Mi 8 SE tipped to come with the Snapdragon 710 chipset. The Mi 8 if previous reports are true is expected to flaunt a 6.2-inch screen with a notch and will be powered by the Snapdragon 845 chipset, with up to 8GB of RAM, dual 20MP f/1.7 and 16MP f/2.0 camera, front-facing 16MP f/2.0 camera, and a 3,300mAh battery.
Gizchina News of the week
The device is tipped to come with Face ID, its own animoji, and has even been rumored to be Xiaomi first smartphone to feature the in-display fingerprint scanner. And if previous leaks are to be taken seriously, a variant of the Xiaomi Mi 8, if not the base Mi 8 would come with a rear fingerprint sensor.
The Mi 8 is also tipped to be Xiaomi first true flagship model scheduled to go live to 8 countries globally, with the first batch landing in Egypt, Spain, India, Italy, Thailand, Russia, Vietnam, and France.
Stay tuned as we’ll be bringing you the latest info regarding these products on launch day as usual.
