HMD promises Android P update to all current Nokia Android phones


HMD global at a launch event recently in Moscow unveiled the new generation of Nokia 3, Nokia 2 and Nokia 5, stuffing them with crucial updates that make them competitive in the latter half of 2018. At the event, and as part of its commitment to giving customers the best, the company through its global marketing manager Neil Broadley revealed that all the new Nokia phones from HMD Global will get an update to the next Android OS from Google – Android P.

The list includes all Nokia-branded smartphones launched since January 2017 ranging from the Nokia 6, Nokia 5, Nokia 8 Sirrocoand the newly unveiled Nokia 2.1, 3.1 and Nokia 5.1.

The news isn’t really much of a surprise to most of us, as the company, since it revamped the Nokia brand back in 2017 has always committed itself to seeding out timely and fast Android update to all its smartphones, and to a greater extent has delivered on its promises, so we are quite confident the company won’t renege on its promise this time.

In a related news, HMD CPO Juho Sarivikas has also revealed his company would be pushing out a new update to the Nokia 8 later on June 1. The update among other things will bring the Nokia Pro Camera mode to the device.
