Samsung has recently shored up its J series of smartphones with launches such as the Galaxy J6 and the Galaxy J8. But here’s another one. As per information procured from a Mumbai retailer, the Galaxy J4 is now released in India. This is a very basic smartphone of the J series for those on a shoestring budget. Below follows the description of the handset.
The Galaxy J4 comes with a traditional 5.5-inch HD display (720×1280 pixels) that is of the AMOLED variety. It runs on an Exynos 7570 SoC and a middling 2GB of RAM. The handset runs Android Oreo with Samsung’s Experience UI on top and has 16GB of onboard storage.

Gizchina News of the week
The Galaxy J4 has a 13MP rear camera with an LED flash that also supports 1080p videos. The front has a pretty barebone 5MP selfie camera backed by a 3,000mAh battery. Lastly, the smartphone measures 151.7×77.2×8.1mm and weighs 175 grams.
The handset is dual hybrid SIM and also supports 4G LTE and a micro SD card. The Galaxy J4 is part of the “Make in India” initiative as described by its retail box.
Though we’re now fully aware of the schematics of the handset, Samsung is yet to officially declare the handset in India. The retailer states the price to be Rs. 9,990.
At that price point, the Galaxy J4 would have to fight tooth and nail to come out on top against the likes of the Redmi 5. The largely unimpressive handset would hardly be able to compete in the now extremely competitive segment with the spec-sheet provided here. If you’re looking for a smartphone under Rs 9k, look elsewhere.
