Fans of the Galaxy Note series of Smartphones wishing to get hold of the upcoming Galaxy Note 9 might have to endure a little more, say reports. Numerous reports have in the past stressed that the Galaxy Note 9 might arrive earlier than normal due to Samsung’s accelerated schedule.
Samsung was earlier in the month of April reported having begun mass production of the 6.38-inch display panel for the Galaxy Note 9 two months earlier than it did for the Galaxy Note 8, which would have ultimately lead to the release of the device two months earlier than normal. This would have resulted in Samsung releasing the device may be by late July or early August.

Now, a new report out of Korea says that the Galaxy Note 9 release date might be delayed by two weeks due to the last-minute design change ordered by Samsung Electronics Vice Chairman Lee Jae-yong. Vice Chairman Lee Jae-yong, after a recent trip to China where he tossed around with a couple of phones made by some of its Samsung Display’s OLED panel clients, reportedly ordered that the Galaxy Note 9 display glass be reduced by 0.5mm.
Ultimately, this is just more evidence that Vice Chairman Lee Jae-yong, having seen what its competitors are doing, was satisfied with the work being done on the Note 9, hence the marching order to further slash down the thinner display glass.
While details of the upcoming Galaxy Note 9 are still under wraps, recent reports suggest the device probably won’t have an under-the-display fingerprint scanner.
