While Samsung hastens to launch its Note flagship earlier in 2018, Apple seems to be in no hurry to launch its rumoured trio of iPhones. We had our first detailed look at one of them (6.1-inch iPhone) yesterday. That is closely followed by a new leak of the 6.5-inch iPhone today.
The leak is from the same collaboration that exposed the 6.1-inch device yesterday and is a regular trusted one. We have known for some time that the traditional iPhone series would soon morph into the iPhone X. And here’s the proof. The 6.5-inch iPhone or the iPhone X Plus as some call it is exactly that. A super-sized iPhone X. That means the biggest change is the size and not the components.
Gizchina News of the week
As you can see in the above video, the 6.5-inch iPhone maintains the status quo of the original iPhone X. It is a carbon copy of the device albeit with bigger dimensions. Speaking of which, here they are: 157.5×77.4×7.7mm. There’s the shiny glass back, the huge screen with a notch. the dual camera and the regular physical buttons. No surprises there. A video speaks better than words, so here’s one below.
As much as we would like to know, we’re still not sure on internals. We’re expecting OLED displays on the two premium variants while the 6.1-inch will likely get an LCD panel. Also, Apple would axe one of the dual cameras to get to the price at which they want to sell the handset.
Expect the new trio of iPhones to launch is Septemeber some time. There’s also an iPhone SE successor coming this year for which release dates are not known.
