On June 6, Honor released a couple of new products such as Honor Play and Honor 9i, as well as Huawei’s latest technology, GPU Turbo. Among them, the Honor 9i officially commenced sales on Vmall at 10:08 today (less than three hours ago), with a starting price of 1399 Yuan ($219).
Huawei Honor 9i’s is equipped with a 5.84-inch display screen with an aspect ratio of 19:9. Its rear is designed with a 2.5D round glass material using a 12-layer nano-technology. IIt is currently available in Jasper blue, fantasy purple, magic night black, and charm sea blue colour options.

The Honor 9i is powered by a Kirin 659 processor coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64/128GB internal storage. It has a 3000 mAh battery capacity and runs on EMUI 8.0 system but its performance will get much better when it is upgraded with GPU Turbo on July 30th. GPU Turbo greatly improves the device’s performance experience through the underlying technology, and it also improves the image processing performance of mid- to low-end smartphones. According to Huawei, the GPU efficiency can be increased by 60% while the processor performance can increase by 30%.
