The Moto Camera App just got a new major update after the Moto Z3 Play announcement that happened last week. The new update brings a major Google Photos integration, with Google Lens support and Cloud integration. However, this update will be limited to 2018 line of Motorola smartphones.
Earlier on this year, Motorola delivered an update to the Moto Camera app that brought a minor UI overhaul, this update also reached some old Moto devices. Today’s update will be limited to the Moto G6, Moto E5, and the Moto Z3 series.
Along with Google Lens integration, the Photos integration will allow the user to access the editing, sharing and backup tools options in the Google app just by swiping left in the Moto Camera. Furthermore, all the pictures taken in Moto’s Best Shot or Portrait modes will be marked in Google’s Photos library.

- Bug fixes and stability improvements
The sad part of this update rests in the limited portfolio of supported devices. After all, 2017’s Motorola smartphones can’t really be considered old. This is just another odd step taken by the Lenovo-owned company, showing that software support for old moto smartphones will not be a priority in the coming years.
