Nokia 5.1

2018 has turned out to be a very busy year for HMD Global -makers of the Nokia brand of smartphones. The company in the last few months has released a plethora of devices including the latest Nokia 2.1, Nokia 3.1, Nokia 5.1 and even Nokia X6. For HMD Global, it is not stopping as it seems the firm is committed to expanding its lower midrange series.

While it has been barely two weeks since it released the Nokia 2.1, Nokia 3.1, and Nokia 5.1, renders have recently surfaced of what is rumored to be an upgraded Nokia 5.1 -dubbed the Nokia 5.1 plus. The renders which emanated from the Leakster – Steve Hemmerstoffer aka OnLeaks, who is well known for revealing images and specs of devices before they are officially announced.

And while the recently unveiled Nokia 5.1 featured the 18:19 aspect ratio, the leaked render suggests the Nokia 5.1 plus will adopt not only the full-screen display with 18:9, it is also set to come with the display NOTCH much like the Nokia X6 that was unveiled in China a while back.

Gizchina News of the week

Measuring roughly 149.5 x 71.9 x 8mm, and with a screen size of about 5.7 inches, the alleged Nokia 5.1 plus, similar to the Nokia X6 appears to be made of glass and metal design with a centrally placed and vertical dual rear camera setup. While the alleged Nokia 5.1 plus bears striking resemblance with the X6, it should be noted that the notch in the Nokia 5.1 plus display looks wider than that of the Nokia 6.

While no specific info on the device has surfaced, there are indications that the device might come with a processor that’s a bit more advanced than the MediaTek’s 2.0GHz Helio P18 found in the 5.1, and could also come with up to 3GB of RAM.

As of now, HMD Global hasn’t scheduled any launch event, so we have no clue when the alleged Nokia 5.1 would arrive, but we will update you as we get more details.
