So, lets do a count here, how many curved edge display phones are available to buy for the public? Apparently, there’s just two. one is from Samsung obviously, the other is from Nokia. It seems if you’re looking for a curved display device, these are the only tow routes to go, except for some Chinese buyers, there’s Elephone as well. But now, Oppo looks close to join the small fray with the Find X.
A new teaser from the equipment manufacturer on Weibo finally let us in on this secret today. We’ll let the teaser do the talking below. Suffice to say, if you like these cool-looking curved edges, then the Find X will be an option soon. However, it is worth noting that these OLED panels are not easy to make and Apple pays $100 a pop for them. The Find X won’t come any cheap if this is an indication.
Gizchina News of the week
This teaser comes at the back of a report from Korea’s The Bell, which said Oppo is ready to procure such curved displays from Samsung this month. We do think that Oppo might delay the availability of the handset if it doesn’t manage to assemble these units on time. However, this could be a wrong assumption depending on the accuracy of the report.
Meanwhile, two models of the Find X have got clearance from TENAA last week. One of them is a high-end model rocking a Snapdragon 845, 8GB Of RAM, and 128GB of storage. Furthermore, the display is expected to be 6.4-inches and with the curves, it will appear more like a 6-inch device. The battery is described as a 3,645mAh cell with VOOC charge. And as for the camera, we expect a 16MP + 20MP combo on the rear while a lone 25MP sits on the front of the device. The Find X launches in Paris on June 19.
