Vivo Nex Makes an Appearance, Again

The Vivo Nex is going to be unveiled in just a few hours and a real life image has been leaked. It confirms all the reported speculations and rumors and throws a light on how navigation around the UI on the bezel-less smartphone will be taken care of.

The phone hardly has literally no bezels if you don’t count the chin. The physical fingerprint scanner has been placed on the back, indicating that this is indeed the Vivo Nex. The front camera no more rests on the front, instead it pops out of the midframe. This allowed Vivo to shave off all the bezel up top and some on the bottom too. Other than the volume and power buttons, there’s a third button that might be for opening up the Assistant on the phone although it has not been confirmed.

Gizchina News of the week

Talking about the UI, there are three thin lines on the bottom of the screen, reminding us slightly of the one-button navigation that Motorola implemented in the Moto Z3 Play. In this case, instead of one, there’s three lines, for back, home and recent apps. Rest of the UI sits snugly in the bezel-less display.

The Vivo Nex is expected to sport the Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 coupled with 8GB RAM and 128GB onboard storage. It is expected to feature a 6.59-inch display. It’s sibling, the Vivo Nex S will have mightier internals in the same form factor; Snapdragon 845 coupled with 8GB RAM and 256GB onboard storage. According to the latest report, the expected price of the Nex S is 4498 Yuan ($702) and Nex is 3798 Yuan ($592).

It looks smaller than a phone with a 6.6 inch of display

‘The phone hardly has literally no bezels if you don’t count the chin.’ Slightly contradictory sentence here.

On a side note though, I like the idea of the Nex and Apex phones. As someone who doesn’t use the selfie camera as much as a lot of others, having it out of the way to increase the screen is a good move. I am little dubious about the piezoelectric earpiece though, some people commented on the Mi Mix’s being ‘fuzzy’ and I hope they’ve improved the tech enough.

i think it’s easy for then to use some mechanism when they have (bbk, the mother brand which has oppo/vivo/op)oppo n3 intheir history, this time they should use camera from top(like honor 7i) or top-side with buton to push the camera out and a rotated connector so that the camera lens(the board its on) could be used for both selfie and rear one. after it’s use,the camera could go back..they can even implement the auto pull in-out within their software/boot so that all camera apps&custom roms could work when the app opened, the camera boards gets out.if they dosuch things, they can even increase size for a larger sensor and 3 camera too.
name it oppo n4/5 with a lite version too.
