The Asus ZenFone 5z was just announced in Japan by Asus on Twitter and availability is on June 15th. Following its Asian release, the handset will now also be on Europea shelves as it has appeared listed on the French portal of Asus. If you’re looking for rebate rules, here is the link.
It has been priced sensationally well at 499 Euros for the 6GB RAM + 64GB ROM variant. That makes it the cheapest model around with the Snapdragon 845 even trumping the OnePlus 6 by a few Euros. The 499 Euro price tag is after a tax rebate of 50 Euros. This is in comparison to the OnePlus 6 price tag of 520 Euros. Although you do get more storage with the OnePlus.
Gizchina News of the week
The 8GB RAM + 256GB ROM version of the ZenFone 5z costs 550 Euros after a $50 rebate and this can be better if you need more storage and don’t use dual SIMs.
The ZenFone 5z has been found on the Italian website of the phone maker as well and unfortunately, the 8GB + 256GB variant isn’t available there, sadly.
In Japan, the ZenFone 5z costs JPY 75,384 which converts to around 580 Euros which is quite expensive compared to Europe.
The ZenFone 5z has some impressive internals and extras and a very good price-to-specs ratio as good as a OnePlus 6. Check out the specs here. Asus isn’t very good at software support whereas OnePlus has a good track record of keeping its phones up to date. So, that’s your call – ZenFone 5z or OnePlus 6?
