The Galaxy J8, which is the best you can get from the J series in India, has received NCC certification. While the handset has launched in India, it is still not there to buy until July. With today’s NCC certification, we can be sure the handset will be launched in Taiwan.
We have some live images of the Galaxy J8 or the SM-J810Y as the NCC sees it.
The live images show the 18.5-9 aspect ratio brought to the budget series by Samsung. Also in clear view is the rear with its dual camera setup and fingerprint reader beneath it.
However, it still remains a weak offering from the Korean OEM considering it sports a Snapdragon 450 SoC while the competition is armed with SD 6xx series chips It has 4GB of RAM coupled with 64GB of storage.
Gizchina News of the week
A sizable 3,500mAh battery sits inside the chassis running Android 8.0 Oreo. As for the camera, the Galaxy J8 is well endowed with dual 16MP + 5MP sensors at the back. The front has a lone 16MP shooter. The handset is essentially a clone of the Galaxy A6+ except that it has an inferior body design as well as a downgraded front camera from the 24MP of the A6+.
The Galaxy J8 costs Rs 18,990 (around $280) in India and that is what we can expect if it releases in other regions across the globe including Europe. No word for availability in other countries but we expect that to happen soon.
