Vivo Nex Ultimate: Here are the best 5 features

The Vivo Apex concept phone showcased at MWC 2018 was the Apex of smartphones with full screens. Now it is a reality and not just a concept in the shape of the Vivo Nex. It was launched yesterday with many touting the full-screen display as the reference design for future smartphones. Nonetheless, it has much more than just a mind-boggling screen-to-body ratio. So, here we look at the best the Vivo Nex has to offer. To be precise, we’ll be writing about the Vivo Nex Ultimate as that is the top-end model amongst the three variants.

The first and foremost highlighted feature has to be that marvellous display. It is a 6.59-inch AMOLED Ultra FullView panel with 19.3:9 aspect ratio. Granted that is huge even by today’s standards but it is in a much compact body. The best part is, you don’t have to put up with any notches at all. Like some said, it is the reference design for future flagships.

The second feature that stands out is the in-display fingerprint reader. It’s only on the Nex Ultimate, but man, it is good to see that new tech. Front fingerprint readers have always been more convenient for me and this one is right on point. It is the third-gen sensor that we’re seeing in the Vivo Nex Ultimate. So, it is 10 percent faster and 50 percent more accurate.

The third feature is the pop-up camera. I mean not the camera itself but the way it has been implemented by Vivo. OEMs have been toying with different ideas but this is unique from the company. Although, there are fears regarding the mechanism working behind the scenes.

The fourth big feature is the processor. It is a Snapdragon 845 and that promises reliable and powerful performance to the end. We know this is the core and it wouldn’t have been a good phone without a reliable processor. So, Vivo was spot on.

Last but not least, Vivo has thrown in 7.1-channel 3D audio thanks to a tie-up with dtsX. This will ensure great audio along with software enhancements for functions like gaming.
