Meizu 16 confirmed by founder to launch in August with Snapdragon 845

We just had a massive leak concerning the Meziu 16 yesterday talking about everything but its launch date. Well, today, Meizu founder Jack Wong, in talks with a fan revealed exactly that on Weibo. Although he didn’t pinpoint the date, the founder said that the Meizu 16 is bound for an August launch. He also confirmed that the device will be powered by a Snapdragon 845 processor.

Following this confirmation, a leaked image has also been circulating the pages of Weibo. It is an alleged live image of the Meizu 16. It is a design straight out of the patents we’ve seen from the company.

As for leaked specifications, there is talk about both a Meizu 16 and Meizu 16 Pro variant. And there is no shortage of leaks. In fact, we have the prices and the variants detail as well. Both the Meizu 16, 16 Pro will host a top-end Snapdragon 845 chipset. The two handsets will have a 5.6-inch and a 6.1-inch display with 3D Press and mEngine. From the above images, it is clear that there’s no notch and reports say the display will be of AMOLED quality.

Talk around Chinese tech circles is that the smaller Meizu will get a 3,080mAh battery with 24W charging and the bigger sibling will get a 32W fast charging on a 3,600mAh battery. As for the camera, a dual camera setup is likely and speculation is rife that it will be a 12MP + 20MP duo while the front will be a single 20MP sensor. Take a look at the pricing below.
