There are only three days left before the Paris conference, which is where the company will officially unveil the next Oppo Find X flagship phone. If you’ve been following us, you already know the smartphone is expected to have a screen to body ratio of over 90%, as we reported earlier today. Well, that changes now as the Chinese phone confirms the teaser with some incredible numbers, the Find X is indeed going to have a StB ratio of 93.8%, something we’ve never seen before on a smartphone.
That might come as a surprise to some of you, since most phone manufacturers have been claiming to launch devices with a “full screen” design; which theoretically should mean 100% screen to body ratio.
Gizchina News of the week
The smartphones that have gotten the closest to that number so far are the Essential Phone, which actually only has a StB ratio of 84.9% and the latest VIVO NEX with an incredible – at least until the 19th – 91.24% of screen surface compared to the rest of the body. As we just learned that won’t last long though, as the 93.8% StB of the Oppo Find X will blow everything else out of the water.
This unheard before screen to body ratio has been possible thanks to the improvement of screen technology as well as the presence of curved display around the sides (Samsung style) and the rearrangement of the front camera (we still don’t know where). In addition to that, the fact that they took the VIVO route with a slim top bezel instead of the iPhone X design with the notch, must have helped in achieving that number.
Recapping some of the specs we expect to get on the OPPO Find X are the 6.4-inch 2340 * 1080 display, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor paired with 8GB of memory and 128GB of storage ( 8GB +256GB in the high version), battery capacity of 3730mAh. In addition, the phone is also rumored to pack 3D structured light technology for 3D face recognition and is expected to have a classic skyline breathing LED design as we had on the Find 7.
The Oppo Find X is looking out to be one of the best looking phones of 2018. Are you guys excited?
