Xiaomi’s ridiculously poor supply chain of the Xiaomi Mi 8 is making its sales super boring. This smartphone was released three weeks ago but fresh information reveals that the fourth batch of Xiaomi Mi 8 will be sold tomorrow, just two days after the third batch of this smartphone was sold. This begs the question “How many units is Xiaomi producing per batch of sales?”. The answer is not far-fetched, it is obviously way lower than the demand and this poor supply chain has given many online stores the impetus to sell this smartphone for $100 – $200 more.
Although Lei Jun promised before the release of this device that the stock of Xiaomi Mi 8 is the largest among all Xiaomi’s flagships, it was sold out in 1 minute 37 seconds in the first round of sales on June 5. The second and third round of sale on June 12 and June 16 respectively also quickly sold out. In all honesty, Xiaomi needs to look into supply chain else it might just piss off some of its customers.
Gizchina News of the week
The Mi Mall and Xiaomi Youpin actually sell this product at launch price but you have to understand Chinese (or have a good translator) and it is also out of stock till 18th June. You can almost be certain that this smartphone will sell out swiftly thus if you badly need this smartphone, keep a tab with these stores by 10:00 (Chinese time). Alternatively, you can check on Banggood (6GB + 64GB – $569.99) or Geekbuying (6GB + 64GB – $549.99).
It’s on sale at 12 midnight at Tmall. You just have to keep refreshing and when you’re successful just hit pay right away. You get 30 minutes to actually pay for it. I was able to get one but color is white. They will sell again at 10 at the Xiaomi website. Good luck!
