As everybody and their dog knows, the VIVO NEX was officially unveiled on June 12th. What not too many people know though, is that the stunning all-screen phone was never on sale until today, June 23rd, which is when VIVO actually launched the phone in China , revealing the final price tag of each variant. With the standard version going for 3898 Yuan ($599), the ultimate version ( 8GB+128GB) priced at 4498 Yuan ($690) and the 8GB+256GB variant selling for 4998 Yuan ($769).
That’s not only piece of news coming from VIVO though. The Chinese phone maker did indeed also announce they’re going to release an update for the handset which will greatly improve the under-display fingerprint scanner performance.
Gizchina News of the week
The update log shows that the new Funtouch OS comes with an update for the scanner as well as the touch screen experience in general. At the same time, the camera has been optimized to both produce better photos and work more smoothly.
In addition to that, the new Funtouch OS system also brings some optimizations for games, which will now use artificial intelligence AI acceleration, so that according to the user’s habits, it dynamically coordinate system resources. In other words, the smartphone will run games better as more resources are allocated to it.
Finally, the VIVO NEX comes with some improvements for SDK and the top 100 games, which will result in a more stable frame rate and power consumption.
Get it down to $400 USD and you might have a chance. $700 it to much for a phone with no US support or warranty.
